A day retreat at Quán Âm Nam Hài Monastery in Panama City, Florida

My dear friend Louise Wang and I embarked on a day visit to Quan Am Nam Hai Monastery - Mindfulness Meditation Practice Center. It was a serene journey into mindfulness and spiritual renewal. From the moment we arrived, the tranquil ambiance enveloped us, inviting a sense of calm and reflection

Stepping onto the monastery grounds felt like entering a sanctuary of peace. The meticulously tended gardens, adorned with vibrant roses and lush greenery, provided a picturesque backdrop for our exploration. Each step along the winding paths seemed to guide us towards a deeper connection with ourselves and the world around us.

As we wandered through the monastery, we were greeted by the soothing sounds of nature—the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze and the melodious wind chimes. These natural symphonies served as a gentle reminder to be present in the moment, to appreciate the beauty of our surroundings with gratitude and reverence.

Throughout our visit, we had the opportunity to participate in various mindfulness practices, from mindfulness eating meditation to peaceful walks along the meditation path. Each activity offered a unique opportunity to quiet the mind, release stress, and reconnect with our inner selves.

One of the most profound moments of our visit was the opportunity to join Master Tran and the nuns in their daily rituals. Witnessing their devotion and dedication to their spiritual practice was both humbling and inspiring. It served as a powerful reminder of the importance of cultivating mindfulness and compassion in our own lives.

As the day drew to a close and we bid farewell to Quán Âm Nam Hải Monastery, we carried with us a sense of peace and renewal. Our hearts were lighter, our minds clearer, and our spirits uplifted. Our visit to this sacred place had been a profound reminder of the power of mindfulness to transform our lives and nourish our souls. We look forward to our next visit.
